The Ashby Strings rehearsing in a wood-panelled room

Weddings & events

Live music for the day you’ll remember.

The Ashby Strings play ceremonies, drinks receptions and dinners across Bath, Somerset, the Cotswolds and the South West — solo cello to full string quartet.

We arrive an hour early, set up quietly and play every moment you planned — then disappear before the speeches.

Op. 04 — A sample ceremony

What a ceremony might sound like

Every wedding is different, but this is the shape most couples choose. Swap anything for your own song.

Op. 05 — Kind words

From couples we’ve played for

Maren learned our song from a voice note and played it as I walked in. Half the church was in tears, including the vicar.

Lucy & Tom · Priston Mill

The quartet moved from the chapel to the lawn without anyone noticing. The music never stopped, and it was perfect for every moment.

Aisha & Ben · Euridge Manor

Clear, kind and so organised. We had a playlist, a plan B for rain and a call a week before. We didn’t have to think about the music once.

Hannah & Sam · The Pump Room, Bath
