Op. 02 — Liner note

Low Light is a record for the end of the day. I wanted music that sounds like a lamp coming on in a window: Fauré’s songs without the singer, two of Bach’s darkest dances, and three new pieces written for me by friends. We recorded it over three nights at St George’s, Bristol, with the hall lights down and the doors closed. Jonah Reed plays a Steinway D. My cello is a Charles Harris from 1830.
