How to choose your aisle music

The entrance lasts about ninety seconds. Here is how to pick the piece, the moment to start, and what to do if the aisle is long.

Start with the feeling, not the title

Think about how you want the room to feel as the doors open. Calm and luminous (Bach’s Air), grand (Handel), or personal (a song you both love, arranged for strings).

Time the walk

Most aisles take 60–90 seconds. We choose a natural phrase to finish on, so the music ends as you reach the front rather than being cut off.

Have a plan for a long aisle

For outdoor ceremonies or big churches we add a repeat or a short introduction while the bridal party walks in first.

Five pieces couples choose most

  • Canon in D (Pachelbel)

  • Air on the G String (Bach)

  • A Thousand Years (Christina Perri)

  • Clair de lune (Debussy)

  • Can’t Help Falling in Love (Elvis Presley)
